KUCHING: Limbang District has turned yellow after recording two local Covid-19 infection cases.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said Dalat District has gone from orange to yellow after recording 17 local infection cases in the last fortnight.

“Selangau District has turned from red to yellow after recording 19 local infection cases in the last 14 days,” they said.

They said Bau District had gone from red to orange after recording 40 local infection cases within the last 14 days.

“The districts of Serian, Subis, Julau, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Sibu remain red with a total of 2,503 local infection cases reported in the 10 districts within the last 14 days,” they said.

Meanwhile, they said Mukah, Song, and Sarikei Districts retained their orange status with an overall total of 85 local infection cases reported in the last fortnight.

The committee said the districts of Telang Usan, Tanjung Manis, Sri Aman, Kanowit, Samarahan, Belaga, Lundu, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Marudi, Pusa, Asajaya, Beluru, Saratok, and Sebauh remained yellow with a total of 97 local infection cases recorded in the last 14 days.

They said 236 new cases had recovered and been discharged today (march 13) – 107 from Sibu Hospital, Miri Hospital (44), Sarawak General Hospital (35), Bintulu Hospital (30), Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) under Kapit Hospital (eight), Sarikei Hospital (five), Sri Aman Hospital (four), and PKRC Betong (three).

“This brings the total number of recovered and discharged cases to 9,826 or 80.06 percent of total Covid-19 cases in Sarawak,” said SDMC.

They said 2,313 cases were still being isolated and treated at PKRCs and hospital wards in the state.

“Today, 222 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases were reported and one is still pending laboratory results,” they said.
