SIBU: The second floor of a double-storey house at Mile 2, Jalan Oya here caught fire on Monday (Mar 15).
Sibu fire chief Abdul Mutalif Ja’afar said a distress call on the incident was received at 12.06pm.
“Upon firefighter’s arrival, the second floor of the house was on fire.
“According to witnesses, the fire is believed to have started from one of the bedrooms upstairs,” he said.
The fire had caused 48 percent damage to the house and no casualties were reported as the tenants (a family of five) were not at home during the incident.
