MIRI: Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin has solved the issue of damaged roads in the main area of SK Tudan Jaya here.

Representative of SK Tudan Jaya Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Fabian William Story said the damaged roads have been causing inconvenience to parents and guardians who are sending their children to school.

He pointed out that the school has been operating for about three years and it was a new school established to provide educational facilities to residents living in Senadin and Permyjaya.

“Due to the limitations in resolving this issue, some of the parents took the initiative to meet with Lee at his office in Permyjaya on March 16. They expressed their concerns and requested his assistance to help resolve the damaged roads.

“Lee was very concerned about this and gave assurance that he would personally resolve the issue,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Fabian said the parents anticipated the issue would take a long time to be resolved but they were surprised to see Lee visiting the site on the following day together with an engineer from Miri City Council (MCC).

“This was a very prompt response from a very busy minister when Lee personally went to visit the site. He was very determined in helping to solve the issue faced by people in his constituency and this made the parents feel touched by the concern shown,” he said.

At the same time, Fabian said the parents would like to express their highest appreciation to Lee and MCC for promptly directing their contractors to resolve the issue faced by the school community.
“This issue was resolved by MCC on March 29,” he added.
