LAWAS: For the smooth development of the state, all levels of society should cooperate and move in a unified direction.
In stating this, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan emphasised the importance of collaboration among individuals with diverse backgrounds for the holistic development of the state, encompassing aspects such as infrastructure and human capital.
“As we move towards development, what is important is that we need to work together regardless of race, religion, culture, and customs.
“If we move in the same direction, then, God willing, we will be able to implement well what has been planned,” he pointed out.
He said this after officiating at Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institutes’ (PPWS) ‘bubur lambuk’ distribution programme at Lawas District Sports Arena here recently.
The Bukit Sari assemblyman also called upon the community to align their efforts with the Sarawak government to promote development, eliminate poverty, and ensure the welfare of the people.
Later, at the programme, Awang Tengah also joined in distributing the bubur lambuk to the needy.
The event also saw the presentation of donations to the needy courtesy of Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS).
Also present were Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong, Limbang Resident Yunus Tambi, Lawas district officer Ladin Atok, PPWS Limbang-Lawas Division chairperson Suriyah Jinin and PPWS Lawas district chairperson Sahbah Sisa.
