Rotary charity run raises RM300,000

KUCHING: About 2,500 runners participated in the Kuching Rotary Charity Run 2023 which raised RM300,000 for charity.

Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri commended the Kuching Rotary Club and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for organising the charity run.

“I know the club has always done charity events like this to help the needy and I hope it will continue doing so,” she said after taking part in the run at CityOne Megamall here yesterday morning.

Nancy also expressed her appreciation to those participating in the charity run, saying it shows the people are doing their bit for the community.

The funds raised from the charity run will be used to support projects such as the kidney dialysis centre, gift of sight for rural residents and urban poor, student exchange, empowering girls and library projects, mental health well-being and food aid.

The event was sponsored by Solo Timber Sdn Bhd, Borneo Biscuit Factory Sdn Bhd, Moma Water, HSS Confectionery Foodstuff Sdn Bhd, PICO Food Industry Sdn Bhd, Trianon Sdn Bhd, Camnix Solution Sdn Bhd and Nestle Products Sdn Bhd.
