MUKAH: Hanisa Salem from Kampung Kuala Balingian, emerged as the Queen of Bederun in the highly anticipated Bederun Festival 2023 here Saturday (June 3).
The 35-year-old Hanisa not only claimed the prestigious title but also took home a substantial cash prize of RM500, along with a sash, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a set of Sugar Bombs as part of her winnings.
The first runner-up position was secured by Norlida Abdullah Sani, representing Kampung Lintang, who received a cash prize of RM300. Norkhairunnisa Wahi from Kampung Pulat secured the third spot and was awarded RM200. Both of them were also presented with a sash, a set of Sugar Bombs, and a lovely bouquet of flowers.
Justina Serinau Linggie from Kampung Lintang claimed the fourth position, earning herself a cash prize of RM150, in addition to a sash, a set of Sugar Bombs, and a bouquet of flowers.
Furthermore, Nurul Elisa Nazhirah Firdaus, hailing from Kampung Lintang, was recognised as the winner of the Miss Photogenic category. She received RM300 in cash, a sash, a set of Sugar Bombs, and a bouquet of flowers.
The Queen of Bederun competition was organised as part of the festival and featured participants representing each village within the district.
