KUCHING: Two local models who are hoping to make their first appearance at KL Fashion Week 2023 are brimming with excitement over their prospects.

Lea Lourdess, 23, from Kampung Taee, Serian is thrilled about participating in her first-ever modeling casting.

“I feel like it is a good opportunity to dip my toes into, I’m very keen to network with people here hence why I decided to participate today.

“Considering we have people from KL coming over, my expectations are quite high, I’m sure they have high taste and standards as well,” she told reporters at the event on Saturday (July 1).

Another model, Sasha Bella Kho, 26, described her participation as an experience she’ll enjoy regardless of the outcome and her desire to try new things.

“I’ve been modeling for awhile now and to be honest I like to try new things, this is just for fun wherever I go so I can tell other girls who want to be in this line,” she said.

She advised younger girls who wish to be models to give it their all, explore and always have the desire to learn.

On her expectations of the event, she said she has high hopes because of its international standards.

“I do know Andrew Tan from KL Fashion Week has high standards, he is a very picky man, but I don’t blame him for that.

“He should have high standards for this KL Fashion Week as it is international (standard) and the whole (of) Malaysia will be watching,” she said.
