KUCHING: An early morning blaze destroyed a residential house and a vehicle at Kampung Sinar Budi Baru at Batu Kawa Road here today.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) said it received a report at a 3.35 am on the fire.
A team of 12 firefighters from the Batu Lintang Bomba responded swiftly, with additional support from eight members of the Tabuan Jaya Bomba.
Upon reaching the site, firefighters noticed a house engulfed in flames which also affected a Perodua Kancil car.
Fortunately, a male adult occupant managed to evacuate the premises safely.
The firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 4.18 am. The whole operation was completed by 4.50 am.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the losses are yet to be ascertained.
