KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) will be in the spotlight tomorrow with the staging of Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2023.
The event is expecting to draw more than 6,500 Anak Sarawak and Sarawakian students studying in the peninsula, from the East Coast, North and South.
Among the programmes awaiting them are the 60 Years of Independence Exhibition, Anak Sarawak Meet and Greet, and the Sarawak Product Pavilion.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof will officiate the event at 9am.
The event will then continue with various sessions such as the ‘Sidang Siswa Sarawak’ at 9.30am; and ‘Sembang Santai Wakil Rakyat Sarawak’ at 11am with Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni, Sri Aman MP Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie, Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin, Lubok Antu MP Roy Angau Gingkoi, and Batu Kitang Assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang as panelists.
Following this, the programme will continue at 2pm with the 60 Years of Sarawak Independence Dialogue session with Tellian Assemblyman Royston Valentine, celebrity chef Imelda Harris, rural internet distributor Jordan Kho Yik, professional conference organiser Mona Abdul Manap, national sprinter Jonathan Nyepa, and music mixer Alvin Wee as panelists.
At 4pm, there will be a Sarawak Agenda Town Hall session #tanyakAbangJo with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
An Anak Sarawak Dinner in conjunction with the 60th Anniversary of Sarawak’s Independence will be the finale of the event.
It will be attended by Head of State Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud together with Abang Johari and his wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Fadillah, and other Sarawak leaders.
