A stone’s throw from the German border, “Sabero” takes diners on a culinary voyage to Japanese-inspired lands, with saké, edamame beans, eel, ponzu and oyster leaves. In a different style, chef Syrco Bakker’s “Pure C” restaurant also gets a two-star rating for its skillful combination of treasures from the sea and the polders, the reclaimed land characteristic of the Dutch landscape. Indeed, 12 restaurants were awarded a first star in the 2019 edition of the guide, including Richard Van Oostenbrugge and Thomas Groot’s Restaurant 212 in Amsterdam.
The Michelin Guide Netherlands 2019 features a total of 110 starred restaurants, including three three-star restaurants, 18 two-star restaurants and 89 one-star restaurants. It goes on sale from December 20 in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. – Relaxnews
