KUCHING: A total of 99 contingents, including 13 floats or decorated vehicles, will participate in the Gawai Cultural Parade to be held here on June 15.
According to president of the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA), Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik, the parade will showcase the rich cultural diversity of various ethnic groups in Sarawak and their traditional attire.
”A delegation from the Kadazan Dusun ethnic group in Sabah has been invited to enhance the festivities of the parade.
“The parade will start at 2pm from the Tun Jugah Foundation building to the Kuching Waterfront,” he said when met by reporters after paying a courtesy visit to the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office today.
Earlier, Abang Johari also received a courtesy visit from the Consul General of Brunei Darussalam, Sheikh Abdul Mahdani Dato Paduka Sheikh Abdul Gani, and his delegation.
