SARIKEI: Nurses are the backbone of healthcare services, playing a crucial role in the health sector of every nation.
Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh noted that during the Covid-19 pandemic, Malaysians witnessed the dedication and commitment of all frontline workers, especially nurses, in managing the crisis.
“Despite a global shortage of nurses, ours continued to work tirelessly and selflessly for the well-being of the public,” he said during the 2024 Nurses Day dinner at Dewan Sentral Sarikei on Saturday (June 22).
He noted that, despite facing numerous challenges, including praise and criticism from society, nurses have remained resilient and dedicated to providing the best care.
The Kuala Rajang assemblyman expressed his heartfelt thanks for their sacrifices.
“This dinner is held to appreciate, honour, and recognise all nurses, who are the backbone of healthcare services and play a vital role in the health sector of every country,” he added.
He also expressed hope that the Nurses Day celebration would inspire all nurses to continue delivering top-notch professional services to the community.
