BINTULU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) here detained a civil servant suspected of abusing power and misappropriating zakat funds for personal gain.
The 54-year-old was held at the MACC Bintulu office to facilitate investigations into the alleged misappropriation of zakat funds amounting to RM5,000.
According to a spokesperson, he was arrested at around 2.30 pm on Wednesday (July 31) after providing his statement.
