SIBU: A total of 116 people turned out to donate blood at a recent large-scale blood donation drive held at Wisma United Chinese Association (UCA).
Of this number, 72 successful donations were recorded.
The event was a joint initiative by the Sibu Branch of the National Association of Life Insurance and Family Takaful Advisors (NAMLIFA), the Sibu Vegetable Planters Association, Lions Club of Sibu Seduan, and KPJ Sibu Specialist Medical Centre.
Organising chairman Pang Chi Hua said the event was aimed at replenishing the Sibu Blood Bank’s reserves.
To thank the early blood donors, refreshments were provided.
Successful donors received a tray of eggs, biscuits, instant noodles, Milo chocolate milk drink, a blood sugar test, and vegetable and rice noodles.
