MIRI: A coordinated operation by the Immigration Enforcement Division (BPI) Kuching and the Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit resulted in raids across three locations in this city on Nov 27.

The joint effort, codenamed Ops Gegar, commenced in the early hours of Thursday morning (Nov 28) and concluded by late afternoon.

The targeted locations included entertainment centres and reflexology establishments situated in the city center and Permyjaya.

Entertainment and reflexology premises inspected during the operation.

Acting on intelligence reports, enforcement officers inspected 68 individuals during the operation, leading to the arrest of 32 foreigners — four men and 28 women.

The arrested individuals faced allegations of various immigration offences, including the absence of valid travel documents, overstaying, and lacking appropriate passes to remain in Malaysia.

The cases are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
