KAPIT: Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has pledged immediate aid to families affected by a recent flood at Rumah Dennis Anak Langok Amang Ulu, Jalan Selirik.
The Kapit MP allocated RM1,000 to 20 families residing on the longhouse’s lower level and RM500 to 43 other affected residents.
He also committed to funding repairs for the damaged compound and providing an emergency boat.
“The flood on Nov 27 inundated nearly all vehicles, causing an estimated RM200,000 in damages,” he said in a Facebook post.
“I hope this aid will alleviate the burden faced by the flood victims.”
Nanta also expressed gratitude for a RM1.3 million allocation secured last year from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for longhouse upgrades.
“These improvements were crucial in mitigating flood damage,” he added.
