KOTA SAMARAHAN: In conjunction with the Chinese New Year (CNY) 2025 celebrations, the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) is providing roll-on-roll-off (RORO) bin services in several areas under its administration.

The service, which began on Jan 24 and will end on Feb 3, aims to assist the public in disposing of bulk waste.

“The areas involved include Taman Samarindah (Flat Lorong 16 Bin Center), Batu 9 (Bin Center near UNACO Supermarket), Taman APT (Lorong APT 1), Market Bandar Riyal (Green Center), Taman UniCentral, Taman Desa Ilmu, and Pasar Asajaya.

“Members of the public who wish to dispose of bulk waste must transport it from their homes and place it into the nearest RORO bin. Tires are not permitted to be disposed of in the RORO bins.

“The public is also encouraged to consider recycling methods for items they wish to discard,” MPKS said in a press release.

MPKS also noted that recyclable items that can be sold include paper, aluminium, and electrical and electronic goods.

“MPKS runs a buy-back (beli balik) programme for recyclable items, which is held every Saturday at the end of each month,” MPKS added.

For updates and information about the “beli balik” programme throughout the year, visit MPKS’ official Facebook page.
