KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak remains steadfast in its mission to foster inclusivity, education, and economic empowerment, says Datuk William Patrick Nyigor.
The AZAM Board Member chairman said AZAM prioritises strategic partnerships to maximise impact, utilising training programmes, publications, podcasts, and exhibitions as key platforms for knowledge-sharing and community engagement in future initiatives.
“As we move into 2025, let us reaffirm our commitment to inclusivity and mutual respect.
“Our vision is to position AZAM Sarawak as the leading non-governmental organisation (NGO) driving community participation through effective participatory communication.
“Together, let’s build a peaceful, prosperous, and strong Sarawak for future generations,” he said this during AZAM Sarawak Chinese New Year Dinner 2025 which was officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian at a hotel here last night (Feb 8).

He also highlighted the success of AZAM’s e-publication, PROGRESS, which has garnered millions of views since its launch, serving as a platform to showcase success stories and groundbreaking initiatives.
“We will continue to invest in youth development through AZAM Toastmasters Club and AZAM Young Souls (AYS), equipping young leaders with leadership and communication skills.
“The recent registration of AYS under the Registrar of Youth (ROY) with its name, Kelab Belia AZAM Bandar Kuching, allows for further growth and impact,” he said.
Themed “Celebrating Success & Strategy”, the event hosted 170 guests, marking the Year of the Snake with a renewed commitment to AZAM’s ‘Movement for Progress’ in line with the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
In an act of community spirit, AYS and Kelab Bola Sepak Seroja Satu Sibu spearheaded a relief effort in Bintulu, helping flood victims clean their homes.
To support this initiative, Dr Sim presented a RM1,000 donation cheque to the football club’s representative, Syed Mohd Ammar Wan Hashim.
