MIRI: A delegation from JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak, led by national executive vice-president and Area Sarawak chairman Tan Chin Jie, paid a courtesy visit to JCI Senator Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts I (Tourism), at SUPP Piasau.
Ting, a long-standing supporter of the JCI movement, warmly welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed his commitment to youth leadership and community development.
During the meeting, Tan presented the Area Sarawak Plan of Action, engaging in in-depth discussions on key upcoming events designed to attract participants from across Malaysia and the international JCI community.
This year, Sarawak will host three major national JCI events, further cementing its reputation as a hub for leadership, innovation, and sustainable development: JCI Malaysia National Academy – Miri; JCI Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians (TOYM) Awards – Miri; and JCI Malaysia Sustainable Development Awards (SDA) – Kuching.
These prestigious events are set to elevate Sarawak’s profile on both the national and global JCI stage while simultaneously boosting tourism, stimulating economic activity, and fostering valuable networking opportunities for young leaders and entrepreneurs.
Accompanying the delegation were Area International Affairs director Sylvester Lim Poh Sing and Area Business & Entrepreneur Development director Jarone Choo Chin Yii, further reinforcing JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak’s dedication to collaboration, impactful initiatives, and youth empowerment.
