MIRI: A joint police operation conducted by the Miri District Commercial Crime Investigation Division and the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division led to the arrest of three local men on Saturday evening.
According to Miri District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the raid took place at 6.15 pm in the Jalan Alpinia Jee Foh 3 area of Taman MDL, here.
During the operation, officers seized multiple ATM cards, mobile phones, a backpack, and cash amounting to RM28,677.
The three suspects, aged between their 20s and 30s, have been remanded for three days to assist in the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for not less than one year and up to 10 years, along with whipping and a fine upon conviction.
