KUCHING: The “Rindok Raya 2025” Ramadan Bazaar kicks off to empower small and medium-sized entrepreneurs while fostering an entrepreneurial spirit within the community.
Held at Hikmah Exchange Event Centre (HEEC), the bazaar is organised by Permodalan Satok Berhad (PSB) in collaboration with the Kuching Car Boot Sales Community.
Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki emphasised the importance of providing opportunities for Bumiputera vendors during Ramadan.
“The goal of PSB is to support Bumiputera vendors, especially during Ramadan, particularly small and medium-sized businesses.
“We want to provide them with an opportunity to earn a livelihood during this holy month while promoting their products, including a variety of foods, both dry and fresh, traditional snacks, and more.
“There are also clothing items, including uniforms for both men and women,” he said when officiating at the launching ceremony of the bazaar today (Mar 5).
Ibrahim said that the bazaar is expected to enhance economic activities in Satok, complementing the long-standing Satok Ramadan Bazaar, which has been a local tradition for decades.

He added that with an increasing population in Kuching and parking shortages, this additional location provides a more comfortable shopping experience for visitors.
“This is the first time it’s being held here, and I’m sure it will bring a lively atmosphere to the entire area. Plus, there’s plenty of parking available.
“Nowadays, many people enjoy going to bazaars because of the wide variety of choices available, which makes this a great initiative.
“Visitors won’t just be locals, people from outside the area, from different ethnicities, races, and religions, will also come as during this time, it’s a tradition across Malaysia, for everyone to go out in search of food,” he said.
Additionally, he also highlighted the importance of cleanliness, hoping vendors would uphold hygiene and quality to attract returning visitors.
“As you can see this area is clean, and we trust that vendors will maintain these standards to keep visitors coming,” he said.
The bazaar will run from March 2 to March 30, with food stalls operating from 1pm to 7pm, extending until 10pm in the final two weeks before Hari Raya. There are 37 food and beverage stalls and 81 booths offering clothing and festive items, enabling visitors to enjoy a diverse selection of products.
