LAWAS: Several villages here, including Kampung Bangkiai, Kampung Luagan, Kampung Baru, Kampung Tengah, Pekan Sundar, and Kampung Gelapas, have been affected by rising floodwaters following heavy rainfall.

The main road has been cut off due to river overflow, though other areas remain unaffected.

Limbang APM monitors flood levels at SK RC Kubong.

According to a report from the Lawas Civil Defence Force (APM) this morning (Mar 8), between 6.09 am and 8.38 am, water levels in Kampung Siang-Siang have receded rapidly.

However, in Sundar and Trusan, the river levels are rising swiftly.

Authorities confirmed that all personnel are safe, logistics remain intact, and further monitoring will be conducted in Trusan and Sundar during the next shift.

Residents are urged to stay vigilant, monitor weather conditions closely, and contact the relevant authorities if water levels continue to rise.

Meanwhile, in Limbang district, flood monitoring is ongoing in several locations.

At SK RC Kubong, water levels have risen by half a foot within the school compound, with an upward trend observed. No emergencies have been reported.

In Kampung Tanjong, water levels remain stable, with the river at normal bank levels and a decreasing trend.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and advise residents to remain cautious, especially in flood-prone areas.
