TANJUNG MANIS: The Kuala Rajang Constituency Ramadan Tour is more than just a charitable initiative—it serves as a platform for leaders to engage with the people, address their concerns, and foster stronger community ties.

Organised by the Kuala Rajang Service Centre recently, the tour attracted over 300 local residents, reflecting the strong community spirit during the holy month of Ramadan.

Kuala Rajang assemblyman and Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh led the tour, beginning with Friday prayers at Masjid Kampung Bukit Kinyau.

During the visit, he presented a RM3,000 cheque from the Kuala Rajang Islamic Welfare Trust Fund (LAKIKR) for the mosque’s use, alongside a contribution from the N41 Service Centre.

Additionally, 53 recipients, including asnaf (needy individuals), orphans, single mothers, persons with disabilities, and the elderly, received ‘duit raya’ contributions as a gesture of compassion.

The programme continued at Masjid Al-Firdaus, Tanjung Manis, where Len engaged with the community and joined the Asar prayers.

The highlight of the tour took place at Masjid Kampung Rajang, where a communal breaking of fast was followed by Maghrib, Isyak, and Terawih prayers.

A total of 339 recipients received similar donations as part of ongoing efforts to support the underprivileged.

Len emphasised that the Ramadan Tour is not just about providing aid but also about strengthening bonds between leaders and the people.

The programme will continue throughout the week, covering various locations such as Kampung Belawai, Jerijeh, Tanjung Manis, Kampung Rajang, Masjid Al-Muttaqin, Masjid Kampung Selalang, Ar Rahmah, and Masjid Darul Saadah Taman Susur Jambu Sarikei.

A religious talk by Almukarram Ustaz Datuk Mohamed Trang Issa added further spiritual significance to the event, reinforcing the values of unity and compassion during Ramadan.
