KUCHING: The Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Brunei (STATOB) continues to play a vital role in enhancing relations between Sarawak and Brunei, while exploring potential collaborations in business, tourism, and social sectors.
In line with this mission, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan visited STATOB in Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday (Mar 7) to receive a briefing on its latest developments.
STATOB was launched last year by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to serve as a strategic hub for fostering closer ties between the two regions.
During the visit, Awang Tengah said that collaboration with Brunei is not limited to tourism but also extends to various sectors, including energy, commercial agriculture such as rice cultivation, aquaculture, and livestock farming involving cattle and buffalo.
He also emphasised the importance of STATOB’s management in designing effective programmes to achieve its establishment’s objectives.
