John Teo re-elected as Sarawak MAH chairman for 2025-2028 term

KUCHING: John Teo has been re-elected as the chairman of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Sarawak Chapter for the 2025-2028 term following the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on March 5 at the Waterfront Hotel, Kuching.

The AGM brought together key players in Sarawak’s hospitality industry to discuss the association’s future direction and elect its new leadership team.

Teo, who is the general manager of Meritz Hotel, will continue to lead the chapter alongside two newly elected vice-chairmen – Solo Cleophas from Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites and Patrick Lau from Hotel98 by Infinite Hospitality Group.

Other key appointments include Olivia Ting (The Meritin Hotel) as honorary secretary and Richard Wong (The Waterfront Hotel) as honorary treasurer.

The newly elected committee members are Audry Wan Ullok (Telang Usan Hotel Kuching); Datin Rosemarie Wong (The Ranee Boutique Suites); Milen Satap (Tune Hotel Waterfront Kuching); Annie Lee Wei (Sentral View Hotel Bintulu); Grace Lau (RH Hotel Sibu); and Rahim Bugo (Permai Rainforest Resort).

Julie Tay from The Limetree Hotel has been appointed as the internal auditor.

Sarawak MAH plays a crucial role in representing the interests of the hospitality industry in the state, advocating for sustainable tourism growth and fostering industry collaboration.
