KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has contributed RM10,000 to the Sam San Kuet Bong Temple to support its religious, cultural and community programmes.
The financial assistance was presented during his visit to the temple, reflecting continued support for organisations serving local communities in the constituency.
“Places of worship play an important role in promoting unity, preserving cultural heritage, supporting charitable activities and strengthening community well-being,” Yap said in a statement on Monday (June 22).
He said the Sarawak government remains committed to upholding inclusivity, mutual respect and religious harmony, values that have long contributed to Sarawak’s stability.
During the visit, Yap also inspected ongoing granite tile installation and tiling works being undertaken at the temple through a RM20,000 MRP grant.
The upgrading project is progressing smoothly and is expected to be completed soon.
“Such upgrading initiatives help preserve important community facilities while ensuring places of worship remain conducive for religious and community activities,” he added.
He also assured the temple committee that he would continue working closely with religious and community organisations throughout Kota Sentosa.
“We will continue supporting meaningful projects that address community needs while strengthening social cohesion, harmony and the overall well-being of residents,” he said.
