KUCHING: The bubur lambuk distribution programme, traditionally held during Ramadan, has become an annual event since its introduction in 2011 by Demak Laut assemblyman, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability.
The bubur lambuk is prepared through a communal effort by the Youth Wing of PBB Demak Laut branch and local youths, starting early in the morning to cook the porridge. A total of 250 packs of bubur lambuk were successfully prepared and distributed to village residents and road users passing through SK Tabuan Hilir.
A total of 41 villages within the Demak Laut constituency will participate in this programme, which will be carried out jointly and in phases in their respective villages from this March 15 to 23.
He also took the opportunity to visit the roadside stalls to purchase food for breaking the fast.
Also present were the Penghulu of the Tabuan Zone, Amzah Dollah, community leaders of the Tabuan Zone, the Demak Laut Youth Chief, the Women’s Chief, and members of the Demak Laut Youth Wing.
