GEDONG: The Semarak Kasih Ramadan 2025 programme, organised by the Batang Sadong Parliamentary Service Centre, continued at Darul Taqwa Mosque in Kampung Sibau Rumbau, Ulu Gedong, fostering community engagement and strengthening ties between elected representatives and residents while providing aid to those in need.
During the event on Wednesday, Batang Sadong Member of Parliament Rodiyah Sapiee presented an annual fund cheque worth RM20,000 to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), along with five mosques and a surau in the Ulu Gedong Zone.
The contribution aims to support religious activities and community development in the area.
As part of efforts to ease the burden of those in need during Ramadan, 30 food hampers containing essential supplies were distributed.
Additionally, donations of 20 prayer mats, 20 copies of the Quran, 20 copies of Surah Yassin, and 20 boxes of dates were made for the benefit of mosque members throughout the holy month.
Rodiyah expressed hope that initiatives like these would continue to extend aid to those in need while also promoting noble values within the community, especially during Ramadan.
The programme concluded with a communal iftar (breaking of fast), followed by Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers, fostering unity and spiritual togetherness among all present.
