KANOWIT: Continuous rain and flooding did not dampen the spirit of a tofu seller, as a photo of her selling tofu from a boat went viral.

Her perseverance has caught the public’s attention, with many praising her determination and comparing the scene to Thailand’s floating markets.
At the time of writing, the photo has received 339 likes and 646 shares since it was uploaded.
Another photo also gained public attention after a Facebook user named Sunnie Wong uploaded a video showing a boat with a roof, resembling a cruise, sailing through Kanowit town.
The video, which was likened to a scene in Venice, Italy, has garnered 215 likes and 366 shares so far on Facebook.
Meanwhile, Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana, in a statement, said that this flood was historically severe, with even areas that had never been affected before now submerged.
“It is advised that all residents in low-lying areas remain vigilant and cautious at all times during this monsoon season,” he said in a statement today.
He added that almost the entire Ngemah constituency had been affected by the floods, with several temporary evacuation centres (PPS) opened last night.
“As of this morning, the areas affected by the floods include Nanga Ngemah, Nanga Baloh, Nanga Dap, Jih, Pedai, Bawan, Mapai, Kabah and Rantau Dilang, with several roads cut off due to rising water levels.
“It is hoped that everyone remains patient and follows the instructions of the appointed emergency personnel who are monitoring the situation and carrying out rescue operations,” he stressed.
