MIRI: The Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) received a grant of RM5,000 from Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala.

Gerawat presented the cheque during a courtesy call from NSJA members at his service centre in Jalan Bypass here on Friday.

The delegation was led by the association’s secretary, Jenifer Laeng.

NSJA president Chai Chon Chin expressed his gratitude for Gerawat’s ongoing support.

“This year marks NSJA’s 50th anniversary.

“One of the highlights of our celebrations will be a Gala Dinner, where we will honour former NSJA presidents and recognise journalists who have served the industry for over a decade,” he said in a statement.

During the visit, NSJA also presented an official invitation to Gerawat for the association’s 50th anniversary Gala Dinner, scheduled to take place on April 25 at Mega Hotel Miri.
