SARIKEI: Forty notices were issued by the Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) during a targeted enforcement operation along Jalan Hua Ee here on Thursday (Apr 24).

Known as ‘Ops Pengarah Bil 6/2025’, the operation was led by Sarawak JPJ deputy director Nor Azlan Ibrahim and involved several enforcement officers from the Sarikei branch.

Sarawak JPJ in a Facebook statement said the operation focused on private and commercial vehicles, targeting offences under the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333), its subsidiary regulations, and the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board Act 1987 (Act 334).

“A total of 105 vehicles were inspected throughout the operation.

“Among the main offences detected were the absence of a Goods Driving Licence (GDL), expired road tax, and various technical violations,” it said.

Also present during the operation were Sarawak JPJ operations section chief Saifullah Ali and Sarikei JPJ Branch Head Yusuf Andan.

The department reiterated the importance of complying with traffic regulations and reminded all road users to practise safe and responsible driving at all times.
