SRI AMAN: A 22-year-old man was killed after the car he was driving got involved in a single-vehicle crash along Jalan Lachau here today (May 30).
The victim was identified as Flecther Kleberson Pandi.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at 8.39am and dispatched a team from Sri Aman station to the scene.
“Upon arrival, firefighters found the male driver was trapped inside the vehicle.
“He was extricated by rescuers before being pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry medical personnel.
“His body was later handed over to the police for further action,” Bomba spokesperson said.
A 23-year-old female passenger, identified as Cordellia Raoh, was rescued by members of the public before firefighters arrived.
She sustained injuries and was taken by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
Firefighters later carried out clean-up works at the scene before the operation ended at 10.14am.
