SIBU: Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee has allocated RM200,000 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) fund to upgrade the field at SMK Kampung Nangka into a concrete field.

According to Tiang, this is an additional allocation following the first phase of the project last year, which received RM150,000.

The project benefits the students as the area is used for assemblies.

The Pelawan assemblyman made the announcement during the 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) of SMK Kampung Nangka, held at the school yesterday (May 24).

The meeting attendees.

During the meeting, he said the event provided an opportunity for educators, parents, and the school community to engage in discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation for the success of the students.

“The success of a school does not solely depend on the roles of teachers and students but also involves the crucial contributions of parents and the community,” he said.

He emphasised that the PIBG serves as a bridge between the school and parents.

“Through meetings like this, various opinions, suggestions, and solutions can be presented openly and constructively for the benefit of all.

“This aligns with the spirit of ‘Serving and Contributing’, which is the foundation of efforts to build an inclusive and progressive education system,” he added.

He expressed his pride in seeing the school’s commitment to organising the meeting consistently every year.

“This demonstrates a culture of openness and concern for the character and academic development of students, which continues to be prioritised,” he said.

Therefore, he called on all parties to continue fostering the spirit of cooperation, mutual support, and the sharing of ideas to create a conducive and safe educational environment, one that will shape a bright future for the next generation.
