KUCHING: Members of the Sarawak Civil Service have been urged to strengthen a high-performance work culture and prioritise impactful, outcome-based implementation as the second half of 2025 approaches.
State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, in his May 2025 monthly address, expressed his appreciation to all civil servants in Sarawak for their continued dedication and commitment in realising government policies and aspirations for the well-being of the people.
“We are now entering the second phase of 2025 — a phase that demands decisive implementation, continuous monitoring, and the ability to address challenges swiftly and effectively,” he said.
He also called on all heads of department to reassess their achievements and the direction of their respective strategic agendas.
Apart from that, Abu Bakar noted the importance of data- and evidence-based decision-making, the comprehensive use of technology, and a proactive, outcome-based approach.
“Only through such an approach can we build a Sarawak Civil Service that is agile, responsive, and resilient, in line with the Premier’s aspiration to make the state advanced, progressive, and inclusive,” he added.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with the Gawai Dayak celebration on Jun 1, Abu Bakar extended his festive greetings — ‘Selamat Hari Gawai, Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai’ — to all civil servants and the people of Sarawak celebrating the occasion.
“Gawai is a symbol of gratitude, unity, and new beginnings.
“It reflects the rich cultural heritage of the Dayak community and the spirit of togetherness that forms the foundation of our state’s strength,” he said.
He expressed hope that this year’s celebration would be especially meaningful, as families reunite and cherish the occasion together, and also offered prayers for the safe journeys of those returning to their hometowns.
