ENGKELILI: Two natural attractions, namely the Wong Ajong Waterfall and Batu Nabau, here have been identified as having strong potential to be developed into new tourism destinations that could boost the local economy.
Acting Resident of Sri Aman Division Mahra Salleh recently conducted a site visit to both locations to assess their suitability for tourism development.
Batu Nabau, located near the town of Engkilili, stands out due to its unique rock formation that resembles a serpent.
This distinctive feature offers significant potential to promote the site as a unique and competitive tourism product, particularly appealing to visitors interested in geology and local folklore.
Meanwhile, Wong Ajong Waterfall is already a popular recreational spot, especially during the hot season. It’s cool, crystal-clear waters and lush natural surroundings rich in flora and fauna provide visitors with a refreshing escape.
The scenic beauty of both sites presents strong potential for hosting tourism expos and eco-tourism activities, offering new opportunities for income generation among local communities.
