SEMATAN: A total of 45 trainees have successfully completed the Voluntary Young Soldier Basic Course (APMS) Series 1/2025, organised by the 511th Regiment of the Territorial Army.
The month-long training programme officially concluded on Sunday at the 511th Regiment Territorial Army Camp here.
The official closing ceremony was graced by the presence of the Commander of the 3rd Malaysian Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Mohd Sauffi Omar, and the Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohammad Asfia Awang Nasar, who was accompanied by his wife, Datuk Fatimah Mohd Iskandar.
In his speech, Mohd Sauffi expressed pride in the exceptional commitment and fighting spirit displayed by the participants throughout the training, which took place from June 9 to July 8.

“Through the demonstration performance earlier, we witnessed the significant transformation in these young individuals. They have proven that with determination and spirit, any challenge can be overcome,” he said.
The ceremony also acknowledged the support of the participants’ parents and families.
Additionally, the Commander reminded the trainees to continue applying the knowledge they had gained and to remain actively involved in future military activities.
Three participants received special recognition in the categories of Best Overall Trainee, Best Academic Trainee, and Best Drill Trainee, in appreciation of their outstanding performance throughout the course.
