Raja Permaisuri Agong arrives for Borneo Floral Festival

LABUAN: The wife of the Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, today graciously welcomed the arrival of Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah at Labuan Airport in conjunction with the Borneo Floral Festival 2025.

The royal entourage, that arrived around 11:30 am, also included Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar.

In a statement posted at Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar official Facebook post, Fauziah expressed appreciation for Labuan being selected as host of the prestigious floral event for the first time, following 13 previous editions held in Putrajaya.

She commended the initiative as a meaningful effort to broaden regional involvement in programmes that celebrate natural beauty, floriculture and community empowerment.

She also hoped such initiatives will continue and be brought to other states across Malaysia.

The Borneo Floral Festival 2025 marks Fauziah’s two-day official visit to Labuan.

She is accompanied by Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, wife of the Sarawak State Secretary, and Norhayati Mornie, her official liaison officer during the visit.

Earlier, Fauziah arrived in Labuan at 10:40 am and was welcomed by several dignitaries, including Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and Labuan Member of Parliament, Datuk Indera Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman.

Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong is scheduled to officiate the festival, which features several key events including the opening ceremony, a gala dinner, and the launching of the LAWA Handicraft Gallery.
