KUCHING: Baleh assemblyman Nicholas Kudi Jantai has announced his intention to contest for the Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Youth Chief position in the party’s upcoming Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) this October.
Kudi said his decision was driven by the belief that PRS Youth needs bold, visionary leadership capable of keeping pace with current demands.
“Since the inception of PRS, I have stood firm in the struggle of the Youth wing. From day one, I worked alongside grassroots members, served as a PRS Youth Central Committee member, and later as Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Sarawak for four years before being elected as an assemblyman,” he said in a statement today.
He stressed that his candidacy was not about seeking position, but about strengthening the wing’s role in championing youth causes.
“If given the mandate, I will ensure PRS Youth is more organised, inclusive, responsive and relevant. I will focus on youth development in education, skills, entrepreneurship, and the digital economy, while upholding political integrity and adopting effective social media strategies,” he added.
Kudi described PRS Youth as the heartbeat of the party’s future, pointing to the need for strong, respected leadership to guide the next generation.
“To all members, especially PRS divisions, I humbly seek your support to nominate me so we can move forward together to strengthen PRS Youth, for Sarawak’s future and to uphold the struggle we have inherited since the party’s founding,” he said.
