KUCHING: Asia’s largest indoor pickleball facility, Pikabol Malaysia, will welcome players from across the country for the World Pickleball Championship (WPC) Open Sarawak 2025 on Sept 6 and 7.

Located along Jalan Pending, the state-of-the-art venue features 16 international-standard indoor courts and dedicated event spaces, making it the perfect stage for one of Malaysia’s biggest pickleball tournaments to date.

In a recent statement, the organisers said the WPC Open Sarawak 2025 is part of the World Pickleball Championship Series Tier 2, exclusively open to Malaysian players, and will feature both open and intermediate+ divisions.

Organised by The Podium Project in partnership with WPC, and endorsed by the Malaysia Pickleball Association (MPA), Sarawak Pickleball Association (SPA) and Kuching Pickleball Association (KPA), the championship is expected to draw strong participation from across Malaysia.

“This tournament is part of the prestigious world pickleball championship series tier 2, offering players in open and intermediate+ divisions the chance to compete for glory and global ranking points.

“WPC Open Sarawak 2025 is proudly organised by The Podium Project in partnership with WPC, building community and elevating the game,” it said.

The championship offers attractive rewards across all categories, with doubles open champions earning up to RM1,800, while the intermediate+ doubles division offers RM1,000 to RM1,300 for winners.

In the singles competition, cash prizes reach RM1,300 in the open division and up to RM1,000 in the intermediate+ division, ensuring strong competition throughout the tournament.

Tournament play starts at 8 am on both days, with registration open until Aug 31 or until slots are filled.

Fees are set at RM225 for early birds (Aug 11–17) and RM250 for normal registration (Aug 18–31).
