KUCHING: AirBorneo has unveiled its official logo, ‘Wings of Unity’, marking a major milestone in its journey towards operations in January 2026.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who officiated at the launch today, described the airline as a statement of confidence in Sarawak’s place in the global landscape.
He stated that the airline will play a pivotal role in advancing the state’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030) through improved ASEAN air links, job creation, improving infrastructure, supporting SMEs, and contributing to achievements of economic growth targets.
“These initiatives collectively aim to position Sarawak as a vibrant economic hub in Malaysia and the region,” he said.
AirBorneo will take over and expand the services of MASwings, offering both full-service routes and essential Rural Air Services to remote communities.
Meanwhile, State Secretary and Chairman of AirBorneo Holdings Sdn Bhd, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, said the logo was more than just a design; it is a promise to connect Borneo to the world and the world to Borneo with authenticity, inclusiveness, and purpose.
He added that the brand reflects the Premier’s vision of enhancing regional connectivity, driving economic growth, and fostering cultural pride.
With its tagline ‘Borneo For You’, AirBorneo positions itself as more than a service provider, but also as a cultural bridge and storyteller of Sarawak.
The ‘Wings of Unity’ design incorporates Sarawak’s colours and motifs, representing unity and diversity.
It draws inspiration from the wind (freedom and connection), the river (innovation and pathways), and roots (heritage and resilience), symbolising a blend of tradition and progress.
Through its unveiling, AirBorneo cements its identity as an airline that carries the pride of Borneo into global horizons.
