SRI AMAN: The Sri Aman Islamic Complex has been completed and is ready to serve as a new landmark for Islamic development and state government administration in the division.

According to the contractor’s briefing during a working visit by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi recently, the main seven-storey office building has been completed, with interior works set to begin soon before the complex becomes fully operational next year.

The three-storey commercial block has recorded 61 per cent progress.

Built on a 6.37-acre site, the Islamic complex will house seven state government departments and agencies, including the Sri Aman Resident’s Office, Sri Aman District Office, Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Sarawak Forestry Department (Regional Office), Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), and the Sarawak Service Counter.

Once operational, the complex is expected to function not only as a modern and efficient administrative hub but also as a major benefit to the local community by offering better-organised and more people-friendly government services.

It will be a symbol of progress, a new identity, and community well-being rooted in Islamic values.

The delegation was also taken on a site tour to observe the overall development of the project, which is set to become a new landmark for the Muslim community in the division.
