TEBEDU: Construction of the new Temong–Tepoi–Sadir Road (Phase 1), spanning 6.6 km, is actively underway, having achieved 1.45 per cent physical progress since it began on Jun 6.

Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada said the RM48 million project is scheduled for full completion by August 2027, with an implementation period of 26 months.

“This project actually started on Jun 6, 2025, and is expected to be fully completed by August 2027. The total cost of RM48 million covers the construction of culverts, drainage systems, and solar-powered street lights,” he said during a site visit recently.

He added that the contractor and the Public Works Department (JKR), as the implementing agency, highlighted potential issues and challenges that could cause delays, such as weather conditions and hilly terrain.

However, he assured that JKR and the contractor are committed to doing their best to deliver the infrastructure for rural communities.

“In addition, they will also conduct weekly progress monitoring to ensure the project stays in line with the original schedule,” he said.

Dr Sinang hoped that once the road is completed, Phase 2 of the project, connecting Kampung Tepoi to Kampung Sadir, can begin immediately.
