SRI AMAN: Veterans of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) in Sri Aman have received an allocation of RM10,000 to support their activities and members.
Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang announced the allocation during the Merarau Ceremony, held in conjunction with the symbolic presentation of the Pingat Jasa Malaysia (PJM) Certificate at a restaurant here yesterday (Sept 5).
In his speech, Mong expressed his gratitude to the veterans for their contributions in safeguarding national peace and sovereignty.
“Many of our veterans are now serving as tribal and community leaders in Sarawak. The discipline and experience they possess are valuable assets that play a significant role in village administration and in supporting the government’s development agenda,” he said.
In addition to the allocation for ATM veterans, Mong also presented a government grant of RM7,000 to the All Saint Chapel Gua and RM10,000 to the Women Fellowship of All Saint Chapel Gua.
The event was attended by ATM veterans, community leaders, and invited guests who came together to honour the sacrifices of the national heroes.
