KUCHING: A downpour did little to dampen the spirits of concert-goers at the Borderland Music Festival 2025 held at the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) on Friday night (Sept 5).
As electronic dance music (EDM) filled the air, they danced under laser lights and bursts of fire.
International and local artistes such as Whisnu Santika, Wukong, and Da Tweekaz delivered outstanding performances, electrifying the atmosphere with their powerful beats.
The Russian duo Zapravka wowed the crowd with their dark and cinematic techno beats, while Wukong brought elements of Eastern mythology to the stage with epic storytelling.
Da Tweekaz cranked up the energy with their high-octane hardstyle music, enhanced by spectacular fire effects and visual displays.

Earlier in the evening, Belle Sisoski made a unique mark by combining electronic music with traditional Sarawakian instruments like the sape, offering the crowd a fresh, modern take on the region’s culture.
Over 60 artistes were slated to perform, including 20 international and 40 local acts during the festival.
In addition to the music, the festival also offered a taste of Sarawak’s cultural richness, with indigenous dance performances, DJ workshops, and local food experiences, such as tasting sago worms, giving international visitors a deeper connection to the region’s traditions.
Day Two promised even more excitement with international stars like Darren Styles, Beauz, Wiwek, and Gammer set to rock the stage with ‘happy hardcore’ beats.
Local acts Nng by Rhythm Revolt and Raq Kid were also expected to add their own energetic flair, alongside other performers like Tiger Burger.
