KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak for the first time joined the Sarawak-level Maulidur Rasul Parade and Celebration held in Padang Merdeka today, carrying the message of togetherness, tolerance and progressive spirit in building society.
With the theme ‘Ummah Maju Makmur’ (Progressive and Prosperous Ummah), AZAM Sarawak’s participation involved staff members, the management team, board of directors, as well as its official youth platform, AZAM Young Souls (AYS).
The contingent also included both Muslim and non-Muslim members, reflecting Sarawak’s multicultural unity and harmony.
AZAM Sarawak’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Suhaili, said that this participation is not merely symbolic for the Maulidur Rasul celebration, but a concrete step in strengthening spirituality, bonds of brotherhood, and togetherness among staff, AYS members, and the wider AZAM community.
“It is also in line with AZAM Sarawak’s commitment to remain a driver of community development, inspired by the Prophet Muhammad’s SAW struggle to build an ummah that is knowledgeable, noble in character, and competitive.
“This first-time participation also reflects AZAM’s spirit under its slogan ‘Movement for Progress’.
“In the context of Maulidur Rasul , the slogan is translated as a commitment to move forward not only in terms of physical and economic development, but also through the practice of noble values and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW in building a progressive and prosperous society,” he said in a statement issued by AZAM Sarawak today.
As a communication development non-government organisation (NGO) that has served for over 40 years, AZAM Sarawak continues to play its role as a communication bridge between the government, communities, youth, and the private sector.
The NGO’s participation in the Maulidur Rasul procession further strengthens AZAM’s reputation as an agent of community unity and a strategic partner in the state’s development.
“With the spirit of unity demonstrated, AZAM Sarawak believes this step will mark the beginning of a new tradition, while deepening the love of AZAM members for the Prophet Muhammad SAW and reinforcing the aspiration to see Sarawak continue to progress, prosper, and thrive in harmony,” he said.
