LUNDU: More than 900 participants from 38 contingents representing government and private agencies, uniformed bodies, students, and local villagers took part in the Maulidur Rasul 1447H/2025M district-level celebration parade here today (Sept 7).
The celebration, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), has long been regarded as an important occasion for the Muslim community to express their devotion and strengthen religious values.
This year’s theme, “Progressive and Prosperous Ummah”, emphasises unity, compassion, and collective growth among the Muslim community.
According to a news report by TVS, participants began gathering as early as 6 am at the Lundu Mini Stadium dressed in colourful traditional attire. The three-kilometre parade commenced at around 7.45 am.
Adding significance to the occasion, Women, Family and Community Development Minister and Santubong MP Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri joined the parade, accompanied by Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan.
