LUNDU: A single-storey house at Jalan Mawar here was engulfed in flames early this morning.
No casualties were reported in the 4.40 am incident as the occupants had already gone out for work.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Lundu station were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they found the house beyond saving and proceeded to put out the blaze using water sourced from a nearby hydrant.
The flames, suspected to have started from the kitchen, were brought under control and overhaul works followed suit to ensure no potential reignition.
The firefighters ended the operation at 6.14 am.
The exact cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
