MIRI: The Lambir section of the Pan Borneo Highway has reached 99.94 per cent overall completion, with the project scheduled to be fully completed by Oct 31.
The Public Works Department (PWD) said the section includes a 301.2-metre viaduct, built using the Post-Tensioned Girder Viaduct Bridge method, which is a key structure.
“As of August 25, progress on the viaduct itself stood at 98.78 per cent,” it said in a statement.
The statement added that the road has already been opened to the public, though minor maintenance works were still being carried out at several locations.
“Road users are advised to remain cautious while driving through the section until the works are fully completed,” it said.
Once completed, the project would enhance connectivity in northern Sarawak under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
