Lions Clubs get together to donate to a worthy cause

SIBU: In line with the spirit of ‘We Serve’, Lions Clubs under Region 2 and 3 of Lions International recently gathered at Sibu Hospital for a meaningful handover ceremony of medical supplies.

The initiative was spearheaded and hosted by Lions Club of Sibu Mandarin President, Henry Kiu, which received overwhelming support from numerous Lions Clubs across the regions, joining hands to contribute to society.

The donated items included 20 units of ripple mattresses and 100 boxes of DuoDern Patch for the wound dressing aimed at improving patient care and reducing the burden of bedsore and wound management at the hospital.

Participating clubs included Lions Club of Sibu Mandarin, Sibu Seduan, Sibu Pahlawan, Sibu Berjaya, Sibu Jaya, Sibu Sungai Merah, Sibu Bawang Assan, Sibu Nangka, Sibu Queensway, Sibu Lanang, Sibu Dudong, Sibu Rejang, Sibu Loving Care, Bintangor, Sarikei, Kota Kinabalu Centennial and Penang Bagan.

To mark the occasion, District 308-A2 Governor, Datuk Winnie Lee Siew Ping, was specially invited to witness this charitable act.

Other Lions leaders present included District 308-A2 First Vice-Governor, Datuk Jimmy Tie Hien Hwa, and Past District Governor, Datuk Connie Loh Ming Hua.

During the ceremony, Lions members joined forces to embody the spirit of unity, cooperation and community service that defines Lions International.

Through this joint service project, not only were the needs of the hospital effectively supported, but the fellowship and collaboration among clubs were further strengthened – truly reflecting the mission of Lions Clubs: “Serving the community with care and compassion”.
