PENANG: The Asian Women Leadership University College (AWLU) has offered three placements to Sarawakian women for its Master of Arts in Leadership Development Programme.
Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK), Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said the programme aligns with the ministry’s commitment to cultivating high-calibre, ethical, and visionary women leaders for Sarawak.
“I wish to express our deepest appreciation to AWLU for offering three placements to Sarawakian women for the Master of Arts in Leadership Development Programme.
“This initiative not only demonstrates your commitment to inclusive leadership but also strengthens cross-regional collaboration in developing capable women leaders across Malaysia and beyond.
“Empowerment through education and leadership development is a cornerstone of our efforts,” she said during her working visit to AWLU recently.
Fatimah recalled that during the recent state level Women’s Day celebration, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg had approved three Sarawak Foundation Scholarships for this purpose.
“At KPWK, we are guided by a vision of building a resilient, empowered, and inclusive society for women and families in Sarawak. Our mission is to mainstream gender equality and elevate women’s leadership at all levels — from community to policy.
“As we work towards Sarawak’s Post Covid-d-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, women’s leadership in all sectors — governance, entrepreneurship, technology, education is vital.
“Let us continue to work together in expanding educational and leadership opportunities for women. I look forward to more collaborations with AWLU and thank you once again for your partnership in empowering Sarawakian women,” she added.
